Karamo has worked as an on-air host and producer for OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) Huffington Post Live and a contributor on NBC’s Access Hollywood Live.
Currently , Karamo is the host of #AreYouTheOne:SecondChances on MTV and the host of #TheUnExplained on the History Channel.
Producer: As a segment producer, Karamo writes content, organized appearances, oversees scheduling and editing of segments and is instrumental in incorporating social media components into the shows.
Reality: Karamo was first introduced to the world in 2005 at the tender age of 22 as a house-mate on the hit MTV reality series the REAL WORLD. Karamo was a break-out star and became the first openly gay African American in the history of reality TV. In February 2016 Karamo returned to reality television as a cast member on TV One’s new hit docs-series #TheNext15. The show documents life after reality stardom and as Karamo balances being a single father with being a working professional.

6in10.org is a HIV awareness organization (501c3) with a dedicated mission to eradicate the 6 in 10 HIV statistic plaguing gay and bisexual black men; by providing tailored mental health support though viral campaigns and community engagement.
We provide our target audience and their allies with the tools to combat HIV stigma in the black family, black church and amongst each other.

Karamo became a writer for the Advocate Magazine in 2014. The Advocate is the second largerst LGBT lifestyle and political magazine in the world.
Karamo currenly writes about pop culture news but finds a bridge to connect it to larger social issues.
As an openly gay man and a single father, Karamo uses his writing to entertain but more so to inform and inspire. He believes it's terribly important that the readers are aware of their own special power to create the change that they want to see in our world.
